Snow is self-contained, and blows down from the top. As you can see from the photos, the decoration inflates great, and the snow inside flows freely from the top. Easy setup and disassembly - just set it on the lawn, and plug it in, that's it. To deflate, there is a zipper area near the top that you just open (it has a net to keep in the snow) and mush it down. Box says it is for indoor or outdoor use.
The snow globe is in very good condition. The only thing I will note is that some of the snow has stuck to the inside, mostly on the lower right side (see 9th photo). There is a 2nd zipper to allow access to the inside, so you could just reach in and wipe it down with your hand. I set this up during the day, so couldn't confirm that the lights are working (they were working in previous season). There are instructions bulb replacement if that is required (looks like it takes a standard nightlight bulb). The box is intact, but some of the flaps are starting to tear (just tape them up).
