8-Foot Sam The Snowman Inflatable Rudolph The Reindeer Gemmy Christmas Used READ
Up for sale is an 8-Foot Inflatable Sam the Snowman played by Burl Ives from the acclaimed Rankin-Bass Christmas Classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I believe he was made around 2006 or 2007 by Gemmy before being discontinued. We have loved this Sam and proudly displayed him in our front yard each Christmas season. He does have some flaws.
Hes a little dirty (as pictured). A hot soapy bath while inflated would likely take off some of the dirt, but keep in mind he is older and not as white as when he was first made. He has had a few repairs over the years. Most notably to the brim of his hat. Its not very noticeable and doesnt leak air. Ive used a tester to be sure. Over the last year, hes had a tougher time staying completely inflated. Ive tried treating him with a fabric sealer, which has helped, but he is still a little soggy compared to his younger years.
He especially doesnt like the rain. If youre handy with these inflatables, I think you can fix the issue and get more years out of him as hes overall in good shape and a very sought after inflatable decoration. Its hard for our family to sell this Sam, as he has brought us a lot of joy (and people stopping by our house unexpectedly for photo-ops), but the maintenance on these inflatables is just too much for us, so weve decided to sell him and our Bumble (which was listed separately). These inflatables were like members of our family and were even used in some of our Christmas cards, so I hope they can go to a good home with someone who can repair them and give them another life and many more Christmas seasons.
