Union Blow Mold THANKSGIVING 35 PILGRIM COUPLE Don Featherstone 1996 Yard Light. This listing is for a pair of unique blow mold yard decorations for Thanksgiving. We all know that retro decorations are hugely popular for Christmas and Halloween.
Easter decorations are quickly gaining popularity with a few old blow molds and some modern inflatables. The next big thing is going to be Thanksgiving decorations. There are already some inflatable turkeys but there are virtually no older Thanksgiving blow mold figures.
This listing is for two of those rare Thanksgiving blow molds. If you enjoy decorating with a retro or mid-century modern look you are going to love these two blow mold Pilgrims. The male pilgrim stands about 35 tall and his wife is a few inches shorter. Both figure are tall, skinny "pencil style" figures. Each figure lights up using a nightlight style light bulb. Each figure has a roughly six foot light cord with a spring clip on the socket and an in-line switch. Both figures have a small round hole in the base with a plug that can be removed so you can fill the base with gravel or sand to keep them from falling over in a breeze (frequently those plugs are missing). These figures were molded in 1996 by Union Products.
The couple was sculpted by Don Featherstone. Featherstone sculpted over 700 figures for Union but is best known for sculpting the original Pink Flamingo. Yup, he was the Flamingo Daddy.
The figures are used but have no cracks or chips. There are paint rubs as you can see in the photos but since blow molds are meant to be viewed from a distance the rubs really don't show that much when viewing. You may also notice some dust on the pieces.
I acquired these from an estate and I think they were in the basement for a number or years. Please see the photos for more detail as they are part of the description. Your neighbors are going to be asking where you managed to find these. This is your chance to "one up" them in the neighborhood decorating battle.

I have no way of knowing whether the previous owner ever smoked, had pets, stored peanuts, or ever had a musty basement, etc. I do at least a cursory cleaning of the items I sell and will do my best to remove dirt, display dust, odors etc, but I CAN NOT be reponsible for things like dust in tight. Corners, odors I didn't dectect, or some mark buried in the middle of a book. You're not paying for my time on an hourly basis and you're certainly not paying professional conservator/restoration rates so please be reasonable.
